Jonathan G. Jemming is an experienced criminal defense, environmental and human rights attorney whose practice focuses on non-violent and violent criminal defense, and environmental matters. Prior to entering solo-practice, Jonathan served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah and as Assistant Borough Attorney for the North Slope Borough in Barrow, Alaska.  Jonathan has represented individual clients at every stage of the civil and criminal process, including trials, evidentiary hearings, pre-charge negotiations, as witnesses testifying, and on appeal.

Jonathan’s criminal practice is wide ranging, from DUI and traffic related offenses, to large scale controlled substance possession matters and drug-trafficking.  From simple assault matters, to aggravated violent felonies.

In addition to his criminal defense experience, Jonathan also has significant environmental litigation and compliance experience.  He has litigated and or otherwise been involved in cases involving a broad range of environmental statutes, including the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Endangered Species Act and NEPA.  He has also worked in the Office of Governor Jon M.Huntsman in advising the governor and state leaders on regulatory matters relating to public lands in the State of Utah.

Jonathan is a graduate of S.J. Quinney School of Law at the University of Utah.  He was the 2003 recipient of the O’Hara Fellowship.

Education

Mr. Jemming holds his Juris Doctorate from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. He is also a graduate and former student body president of Westminster College, and has kept his roots in Utah in order to serve the community.
